Mercedes Robinson has an amazing ability to decipher an individual's taste and vision in order to blend that with her own creativity and expertise. On the occasions when I was unsure about the direction she wanted to take, the results ended up being better than I could have imagined and I was so glad that I trusted her instincts. Mercedes Robinson is the best! I shared with Mrs. Robinson that I wanted to have a football themed room and WOW is all I can say. I now have a built in entertainment center, my walls, ceiling and doors are painted in the colors of my favorite football team and I even have a hand painted huge football as my headboard.  My new floor looks like a locker room and well, this room rocks!

I did not want to ask for too much when my parents said we could re-do my room.  I had always wanted stars on my ceiling, so I asked if Mrs. Robinson could find some glow in the dark ones that we could attach.  Mrs. Robinson asked me several questions about my hobbies, interests and really about the things that make me happy.  I told her that I love Astronomy.  The next thing I knew she had arranged for muralists to come to our house and show us some of their ceiling designs. I felt like I was in a dream.  I was able to share with the muralists the exact star systems I would like to see on my ceiling and 3 days later it was all there..plus the stars do glow in the dark!

Mrs. Robinson is the best.  She makes dreams come true.

When I turned 86, my son and daughter-in-law invited me to come live with them and my grandchildren.  I'll be honest, I resisted at first, as I felt so comfortable in my own home and I did not want to be a burden.  My family told me they were renovating the downstairs master for me and that I would love it.  Well, they were right. 

They hired a top-notch designer, Mercedes Robinson, to make the project happen. The family and Mercedes asked me (long distance) what my desires were and when I arrived  my room was a sight to behold. 

This room has everything that a senior citizen could want and need.  They added canned lights in the ceiling so I could read with ease, gorgeous drapes that keep the glare out from the sun, a soft low pile carpet so I don't trip and....they even put in a heated bathroom floor.  Plus, I can walk right in to the new shower without a step up or down, there are ample grab bars and there is a moveable shower head for me if I need to sit down while in the shower.  Yes, they put a shower chair in there, too! 

I have to say, this move has been wonderful for many reasons, not the least of which is because of the thoughtfulness put into my room design by my loved ones and Mercedes.  I can certainly "age in place" right here with my family.
